Foals star Jimmy Smith thinks he is been “fortunate” amid the COVID-19 pandemic.The guitarist has been dwelling within the US for the final two years and he is now feeling “completely totally different, in a great way” in comparison with his pre-pandemic self.Reflecting on the final couple of years, he defined: “I really feel completely totally different, in a great way. I’m fortunate in that these final two years of the pandemic have had constructive results on me.”Jimmy felt worn down by the “repetitive machine” of the music business earlier than the pandemic struck.The musician visited his girlfriend in Los Angeles when COVID arrived within the US and he is now determined to base himself on the West Coast of America.He informed NME: “As a band, we haven’t actually stopped for 15 years. You see different bands doing stuff while you’re not busy and also you simply assume, ‘Oh, we must be doing this’. That every one simply went away as a result of it needed to.”Jimmy believes that the break has been useful for the band.And he thinks that their new perspective is obvious on their newest album, ‘Life Is Yours’.Jimmy – who stars within the group alongside Yannis Philippakis and Jack Bevan – defined: “Everybody’s place received stronger. “Now it’s simply the three of us, there’s no hiding any extra. After we had been a five-piece with Walter [Gervers] and Edwin [Congreave], you can take a backseat. “Now all eyes are on everybody and you might want to step up. I’ve received to say extra now. I lastly really feel snug calling myself a ‘songwriter’, so I could be extra assured with that.”
