Candice Patton Almost Quit The Flash Due to Fan Harassment

Candice Patton is detailing the darkish aspect of TV fandoms.

The Flash actress recalled being harassed by followers when she joined The CW collection as Iris West in 2014. “I wished to go away the present as early as season two,” she not too long ago informed The Open Up Podcast. “I bear in mind being like: ‘I can not do that, I am not gonna make it by, I am severely sad.'”

For Candice, she felt that The CW and Warner Bros. have been lax of their response to the net bullying, as they felt it was simply part of becoming a member of such an avid fandom.

However the actress was dismayed that they weren’t extra thoughtful of the racism that fueled fan responses. “I believe any time you rent anybody who’s a minority of any sort it’s a must to be ready to guard them,” she defined on the July 3 episode. “It is like if I get pulled over at 2 a.m. in Jackson, Mississippi, by a white cop. Do you suppose he provides a s–t that I am Candice Patton from The Flash? It would not matter.”
